The American Civil War was the deadliest conflict in American history, fought on the basis of one ideal question: Should slavery persist, or should it be abolished? During this time of immense struggle for African Americans, both free and enslaved, countless stories unfolded, showing history that greatness exists in each and every one of us, regardless of how we look or where we come from.
Bruce Revels, the author of ‘The Black Senator’ has tried his best to capture what living in the United States during the Antebellum Era, the Civil War, and the Reconstruction Era was like for African Americans.
Who is Bruce Revels III?
Bruce Loften Revels III is a young aspiring author who’s always been fascinated with history since childhood. A graduate of Baldwin High School, he’s on his way to major in Political Science at the University at Buffalo, and aspires to be an advocate of the people, a public servant, and lawyer.
The Black Senator Series is the culmination of five years of dedication to a magnificent story of one of America’s most influential Reconstruction Era figures. After a year of research, three years of writing, and a year of editing, the first installment of the trilogy has been released.
